Jeff Koons was born in York, Pennsylvania in 1955. He studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore and the school of the Art Institute in Chicago. Koons’ work is in numerous public collections, such as the MOMA, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Guggenheim, and the Tate Modern.
This photo is by George Caddy, who died in 1983. It was taken at Bondi, Australia, between 1936 and 1941, picturing ‘Beachobatics', a popular sport of the time. This ceramic plate is a highly collectable piece. 26cm diameter.
